Lawley mods

The Lawley as it arrives is a great basic engine. There is so much scope for changes large and small and they all add up to help you make the loco that bit different and possibly more realistic.

The inspiration for many of these mods has come from Tag Gorton, the editor of GardenRail, the monthly magazine which is required reading for everyone interested in large-scale garden railways. Tag's book, "Live Steam Workshop"

is full of ideas and detailed "how to" information on many mods to your Accucraft and Roundhouse locos.

Inside the cab has seen some fairly big changes. The loco as it arrived was manually controlled. The Evensford and Midland has some stiff gradients and a manual steam loco struggles to cope. Therefore fitting a radio controlled servo on the reverser and regulator was a priority
